The Loves of Ludwig

Ludwig, the sturdy-booted Austrian, turned up in Grecondale with no fixed abode and successfully endeared himself to the locals by doing odd jobs for them.

It was at Grecondale’s annual summer garden fête that Ludwig first set eyes on Gloria, a curly-haired blond of sturdy stature.  The pair were instantly attracted to one another.

However, they didn’t meet again until one day a few weeks later when Ludwig was at work in Grecondale Municipal Park and he spotted Gloria sunbathing.

He was overjoyed when Gloria (who it transpired was rather a forward lass), gamely accepted an invitation to inspect his delphiniums.

But this was no love story and, behaving like a complete scoundrel, Ludwig avoided Gloria from that day on, eventually turning his attentions to a different blond.  This time, the object of his desire was of non-Grecon blood: a pretty but melancholy BAPS shepherdess called Bo Peep.

Being a consummate charmer,  Ludwig soon managed to woo Miss Peep by helping her to find her lost sheep and she agreed to accompany him back to his newly purchased German hunting lodge for a cup of tea.

However, Ludwig’s amorous intentions were thwarted when Gloria turned up unannounced. She was accompanied by a young baby and announced that the little girl, Wendy, was Ludwig’s daughter.

Ludwig literally headed for the hills.  There he took stock of his life and decided to turn his back on his rakish batchelor ways, vowing to do his best to take care of Gloria and the baby.

Back in Grecondale, Ludwig stuck to his promise and brought Gloria and baby Wendy to live with him in the hunting lodge where love seems to have blossomed.

As it turned out, Gloria had been little premature in naming the baby Wendy because once it matured and grew its metal feet (a Grecon phenomenon), it turned out to be a boy!  So here they are in the hunting lodge with their son, Wendell:

The couple are now expecting their second child.
